Weather outlook: it will be in the upper 60’s and highs of mid 80’s through the end of this week. From the weekend through next week, it turns to high 40’s overnight most nights and mid to high 60’s most daytimes after the weekend.

Winds are currently at 12 mph from the southern direction. It is mostly sunny with a partly cloudy turn into nighttime.

We are looking at the weekend being fairly windy here on Lake Corpus Christi.

The lake is currently 11.9% full sitting at 76.47 feet above sea level with its full mark at 94’ above sea level.

We sadly haven’t seen anyone fishing on the lake. Neither from shore nor from any type of fishing watercraft.
One of these days during the off season, we plan to drive around to the known public boat ramps and ask, to verify for certain, if it’s possible to launch any boats at their facilities.

Also, the running joke in my own family is: “Why don’t I just go put in some poles at the water’s edge in front of Weber’s?” To that I also say one of these days. Truth is, I have waders, I have kayaks and paddle boards. I have recovers so much fishhook 🎣 line, sinker, trough line, cork and float of every shape and size as the water recedes. It’s all out there for anyone wanting to beach comb. The stumps at the bottom of the lake which were previously unseen, are all showing their stumpy trunks and roots. Along with them resurfacing. They reveal the collection of gear snagged off of the fishermen who put faith and efforts of fishing in our cove.

It would be a true statement to say, one doesn’t even need any fishing gear to come fishing here. Maybe a little bait, and patience. After that, truth is, there are still lots of fish in our lake. Just gotta figure out how to get them on your hook.
